History of Natural Plant Products

In 1997, OMG formed Natural Plant Products, Inc. (NPP) as their marketing subsidiary. In 1998, OMG hired Jerry Hatteberg as their full time CEO to oversee both the OMG crop production and NPP marketing & distribution operations.

In 1999, the vertical integration of the meadowfoam industry is completed when Natural Plant Products assumes complete responsibility for worldwide sales and distribution of Meadowfoam Seed Oil. NPP now works directly with distributors and customers to continue the development of market share for Meadowfoam Seed Oil in the cosmetics and personal care industries.

In 2010, Jerry Hatteberg retires after more than ten years as CEO of NPP and its parent company, OMG. Mike Martinez, previously working on commercial initiatives, assumes the office upon Jerry’s departure.

In 2011, Natural Plant Products launches Daikon Seed Extract, a novel triglyceride material derived from radish seeds and grown by the same cooperative of farmers that commercialized Meadowfoam Seed Oil.

In 2016, Natural Plant Products added a formulation laboratory to their Salem office and contract formulator Joan Kappes, went to work using the space to develop formulations to share with industry formulators to facilitate the adoption and use of NPP’s products in the industry.
