Job Title: Manufacturing Technician I

Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm

Technician/Operator – Manufacturing

The Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for the safe and efficient operating of manufacturing equipment that processes raw agricultural materials into crude and refined natural oil products. This position is responsible for producing quality seed oil through safe operation of the manufacturing process. The technician is primarily responsible for safe operation of equipment, handling oil, raw materials used in the manufacturing process and incoming and outgoing shipments. The technician will monitor the manufacturing process and equipment, making necessary adjustments to meet the highest safety and quality standards.

The Manufacturing Technician I reports to the Production Supervisor. The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm.

Essential Duties

  • Ensure quality and consistency throughout the production processes by assessing, modifying, and/or calibrating equipment.
  • Ensure efficiency and productivity by evaluating and modifying production processes and/or equipment.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolve issues with equipment, devices, or products; uses precision instruments such as gauges, scales, and spectrophotometers to adjust.
  • Safely operate a forklift to complete various direct and indirect tasks associated with the manufacturing process.
  • Assists engineers, contractors, and other specialists with tasks related to development, and evaluation of new products, operations, and/or procedures.
  • Filling out, completing, turning in and maintaining daily paperwork, which includes but is not limited to; Production logs, batch records, pass down reports, inventory reports and documentation of safety and training forms.
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Follows and ensures production process is in compliance with our GMPs and quality program
  • Oversee, monitor and control machinery via the use of a control screen, manual levers, switches, buttons and valves.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the manufacturing or agricultural production industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with engineering, technical support, sales and management
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills in up to a 12-hour shift
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite and other related software.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift operating skills and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • A safety sensitive position requires full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely work.
  • Prolonged periods of standing in factory and at times, sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds while practicing safe lifting techniques.
  • Manual dexterity to evaluate, install, and modify equipment.
  • Rotating shift work will require to work nights and weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
