30-year veteran brings ag business development experience to personal care oil producer.

Salem, OR ─ March 8, 2017 ─ Natural Plant Products, Inc. (NPP) a producer of natural botanical oils/extracts from USA-based co-op member farms, has hired food and agriculture industry veteran Bryan Brown as their Vice President of Global Business Development.

Brown brings 30 years of successful international business development and sales management experience to the Willamette Valley cooperative having previously held positions with NW Export Development, Gray & Company, Oregon Fruit Products and Rainsweet. He has also worked extensively with the Oregon State Department of Agriculture Marketing Development Division and the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) to target countries for sales growth, both strong sellingpoints for the NPP team.

“Year over year, market demand for our Daikon Seed Extract has doubled and, with our Meadowfoam Seed Oil being used more extensively by brands of all sizes to actively to extend the shelf life of natural formulations, we needed more staff to keep up with market demand,” says Mike Martinez, NPP’s CEO. “We are extremely pleased to have someone with Bryan’s breadth and depth of experience working with multi-national and international companies. He brings an awful lot to the table.”

Brown has hit the ground running calling last week on key accounts in North America with trips to Europe and Japan planned in the next few months where he is promoting NPP’s popular meadowfoam seed oil and daikon seed extract products. “I’ve spent my career in agriculture-related enterprises,” says Brown. “I understand well the plight of growers and will draw from my experience in product development and selling technical  ingredients in the food industry to enhance the value to our member growers with our customers and distributors around the world.”

Brown holds a BS in Agricultural Economics from Oregon State University, has been a partner in an Oregon Christmas tree farm for almost 40 years, and has lived in the Willamette Valley of Oregon most of his life. He is also actively involved with local Rotary as well as having held board positions on Marion Polk Food Share and NW Food Processing Associations (NWFPA) and the NWFPA Education and Research Institute.
